Patrick Bones, APLD is the owner and president and principal designer of Brighton Landscape Design. Brighton Design has been professionally designing, installing, and maintaining landscapes since 1995. Patrick is a nationally-certified landscape designer and a member of England's Society of Garden Design and the Royal Horticulture Society. He has designed and overseen the installation of numerous residential, institutional and commercial landscapes in Oklahoma. Patrick's unique designs are influenced by his study of garden designs in numerous world-class gardens in the United States, Canada, France, England and China. Additional creative influences come from attending and participating in annual professional landscape conferences and seminars.
Patrick is a member of the Tulsa Garden Center, Oklahoma Horticultural Society, American Horticulture Society, Garden Writers Association of America and the Western Nursery and Landscape Association. He has served on the boards of the following organizations: the Advisory Board for the Horticulture Technology Program at Tulsa Community College, Tulsa Historical Society, Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Horticulture / Landscape Architecture Department at OSU in Stillwater and at OSU in Oklahoma City and on the Professional Advisory Council for their Horticulture/ Landscape Design Department. During 2007 Patrick served as President of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, Vice-President of the Oklahoma Horticultural Society, and Vice-President of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers Oklahoma Chapter. Patrick presently serves as the President of the APLD Oklahoma Chapter, and as a municipal evaluator or judge for the organization America in Bloom.
Patrick is the first designer in Oklahoma to be certified as a professional landscape designer by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers. He has earned an Associate’s degree in Applied Science, Horticulture Technology, Landscape Design and Construction from Tulsa Community College and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Langston University. He received an Award of Excellence in 2004 from the Oklahoma Flower, Plant and Landscaping Show and served as a Great Garden Judge for the 2005 Wichita Garden Show.
